| All of our cats run very well with Zenoah's.
Our big cats weigh in under 10 lbs. and pack a lot of air beneath the
hull. As a matter of fact we are currently running a 58" Thundercat
in NAMBA's very competitive GX 1 Cat class here in District 3. Usually
25 to 30 boats are in this class. We have been doing quite well, there
are some racer's beating us but not really any boats. The few guy's that
are ahead of us are beating other boater with there set up as well, if
the top racer's were using our stuff they would still be beating us. We
have never pushed Expresscraft as race boats in our 15 years of
producing great product's but it's nice t know our style and scale
appearance do not come at a cost in performance. |
Lightning Cat building tips:
13" from spark plug to transom is a good engine location. be sure to
make a smooth transaction from motor to strut with the flex shaft, this is the
most important step in building the boat. If you use a rudder package such as
an Octura oc8str-q this places the rudder behind the prop, it will loose a
little speed, 2/3 mph but the boat will turn good to the left and the right. If
you use an Aero Marine strut and offset the rudder to the right make the rudder
centered with the right hand engine rail this is a favorite amongst racers.
